ED system = 280 m3/d
1. Pump Motor Controls –
The
ED system includes 22 centrifugal pumps; 14 pumps with
7.5
KW motors, 4 pumps with 15 KW motors and 4 pumps with 3.0 KW motors. Power for
all motors is 415 VAC, 50 Hz, 3 phase. All 22 motors require Variable Frequency
Drives.
2. Off-Skid Equipment & Piping -
a.
Feed Balance/CIP Tank (T-1000) – 500 liter capacity, 316 SS sanitary
construction
w/ CIP spray ball. Includes level transmitter and 50DN (2”) sanitary
level
control valve.
b.
Feed Booster Pump (P-1000) – Sanitary
centrifugal, 18 m3/h water @ 2.0 bar
pressure.
c.
Chemical Day Tanks (T1001 & 1002) – 25 liter
capacity, plastic construction for
35%
HCl and 50% NaOH. Include level controls and actuated valves to fill and
empty.
These tanks are mounted above T-1000 such that chemicals gravity
feed.
d.
Chemical Dosing Pumps –15 liters of 50%
NaOH into to each CIP.
Dosing
rate ~150 l/h. MP-1002 pumps ~20 liters of 35% HCl to each CIP.
Dose
35% HCl into the brine stream during ED processing at a rate of 15-35 l/h,
with
dosing rate controlled by a 4-20 ma analogue signal. Maximum dosing rate
~150
l/h.
e.
3-way Divert Valves – Angle type, sanitary 3-way
divert valve, 316 SS, DN50 (2”) size.
f.
Local Control Panel – SS enclosure,
typically mounted on tank to house
solenoids
for the pneumatic actuated, off-skid valves.
g.
Interconnecting piping & valves .
3.
Control System, common to both ED lines:
a.
PLC –
–
Digital inputs (24 vdc) = 128 (approximate count)
-
Digital outputs (24 vdc) = 128 (approximate
count)
-
Analog inputs (4-20 ma) = 64
-
Analog outputs (4-20 ma) = 40
-
Flow totalizer inputs = 6
-
Analog control loops = 40
b.
Operator Interface –
Desktop PC, Pentium 4 – 3 MHz – I M byte Ram CD
drive,
Hard disk, Keyboard, optical mouse, CD/DVD rewrite, USB port, network
card
between PC and PLC, 19” LCD monitor, operative system Windows 2000
suitable
for SCADA system application. Graphic software such as In-Touch to
create
operator interface screens, alarm pages, analogue
controller
pages, trends and pages for controlling plant sequence; start-up,
process,
flush, CIP and shutdown.
4.
Wiring & Cables:
-
Between the PLC and the motor controls, DC
drives and local junction
boxes
on the ED skids.
-
From the motor controls direct to pump
motors.
